Easy Paper Tulip Craft Tutorial
Create a spring decoration that will last a long time with this easy paper tulip bouquet, which uses colorful paper and straw and is also fun for a Mother’s Day gift idea.
How To Make Paper Tulips
I use construction paper and scrapbooking paper to make paper tulips.
Green paper straws are great for the stem, as they have almost the same diameter as the hole puncher. Thus, the tulip stays on the paper straw stem without glue or tape.
If paper straws are unavailable, you can use dry twigs from the pruned shrubs before forming the leaf bud. It is a great way to bring spring into the home.
Supply To Make Paper Tulip
Print the template on regular A4 white paper, then trace it to the thicker colorful paper. If available, print the template on A4 colored paper.
- Construction paper, colored A4 paper, cardstock paper, or scrapbooking paper
- Paper tulip template printable
- Green paper straw
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Hole puncher
Step By Step Paper Tulip Tutorial
Print the tulip template on an A4 copy paper or straight on the colorful paper.
Cut up both templates.
Trace both templates on colorful paper if you printed them on regular white copy paper.
You can use the same color or print paper for both templates or mix and match the color of the small and larger tulip petals.
Use the hole puncher on all petals as marked on the template.
Fold the petal vertically along the corner that is attaching each petal.
Thread the larger petal first through each hole overlapping between each petal base. Once all petals are on the paper straw, push it toward the middle to make room for the smaller tulip petals.
Thread the smaller petals, then push the larger one up the paper straw to resemble the double-flowering tulip petals.
Make multiple tulips to create a paper flower bouquet.
Add these cupcake liner flowers to the bouquet, as it is also an easy paper flower craft. Then, put the bouquet in the fabric-wrapped mason jar for easy decoration.
If you use dry twigs for the stem instead of paper straw, choose a twig with a diameter almost the same as the paper straw.
