The Different Between Clover And Shamrock

Based on the information about clover plants, the difference between clover and shamrock is that clover can come with four leaves, which is rare and a symbol of luck. While shamrock always comes with three leaves.

This tutorial is for making the three-leaves shamrock or the four-leaves clover. Easily customize if you want to make one of them or both.

Material For Making Felt Clover

  • Green felt, one type of green, or multiple different shades of green as your preference.
  • Embroidery floss or sewing thread
  • Hand sewing needle
  • Clover template
  • Green button or any button you like
  • Hair elastic or pin hardware or safety pin
  • Scissors

Instruction To Make Felt Clover

Print the clover template.

Cut the template, then trace it on the felt.
Cut each traced felt, three for shamrock, four for lucky clover.
Cut two little circles felt. It can be the same green colour or two different colours.

Felt Shamrock

To make a three-leave shamrock, thread three felt leaves.

Pull the thread and make a knot.

Sew the little circle on the top of the felt shamrock.
Sew the button in the middle.

Felt Clover

To make a four-leave clover, thread four felt leaves.

Pull the thread and make a knot.

Sew the little circle on the top of the felt clover.
Sew the button in the middle.

Attach the hair elastic by sewing it with the little circle on the bottom of the felt clover or shamrock.

To make a pin, sew the pin hardware with the circle piece.
If the pin hardware is unavailable, then use a little safety pin.
