Daisy Flower From Felt

Daisy flower made of felt is a fun craft project related to nature when the spring season is not in bloom yet, so you can make them indoors whenever possible.

Use a daisy flower template that is available in a PDF format to download to help with the project.

Another option is to use the pinking shears to cut up the daisy petals without using the template.

I used thin felt to make the flower. You can use any available felt material.

  • White felt, or any colour felt you like for the petal or ray floret
  • Yellow felt for the center or disc floret
  • Felt daisy flower petal template PDF print
  • Air erasable fabric marker
  • Hand sewing needle
  • Thread
  • Scalloped Shears or Pinking Shears

Step By Step Felt Daisy Tutorial

Draw two different circles, circle A is a bigger one for the lower petals, and circle B is a smaller one for the top petals.
Circle A: 3.5″
Circle B: 2.75″
Yellow felt for the center 5″ x 0.5″

If using a template:
Trace the template on the felt by using the fabric marker.
Then, cut each traced felt for the petals using scalloped shears and cut the long rectangular with regular scissors.

Cut the center circle and put it aside. You will use it to cover the base of the flower.

Fringe cut the yellow felt.

For circle A (the big one), make a fringe cut on the edge toward the center circle from one scalloped inward point, leave about 0.25″ between the petals cut to the center circle, and skip one scalloped edge so that you will make a double petal.

For circle B (the small one), make a fringe cut on the edge toward the middle circle from each scalloped inward point, leave about 0.25″ between the petals cut to the center circle, and you will make single petals.

Take circle A, stitch around the center circle, then take circle B, continue stitching around the center circle, and pull the thread a little bit.

Roll the yellow felt. Stitch it and put it in the center of the petals as a disc floret.

Pull the thread, put the cut-off center circle on the base of the flower, and knot the thread.

From this point, the felt daisy flower is ready to use for other projects.
